After years in corporate America, our family, daughter Sara, mom Linda, and dad John, opened a boutique fitness studio in Portland, Oregon, in 2012. Nine years later, we launched Chromacore, where we blend next-level Lagree Fitness with chromotherapy to create an immersive, multisensory experience.
We don’t just understand the challenges of running a fitness and wellness business. We live with them every day.
Long before we became studio owners, Linda and John created But Will They Sell and proved the system with 34 companies struggling to hire and develop people who could actually sell. Since then, more than 2,500 sales professionals have been through the program.
Sara learned RxSales by osmosis and holds the record as the highest-skilled sales professional ever evaluated through the system. Well, she should be!
At our own studio, we hired people with great front desk experience in fitness, spas, and wellness. They were personable, fantastic at building relationships, and wonderful at taking care of clients.
But we weren’t hitting our sales goals.
We had a rock-solid sales process, yet we weren’t converting enough intro clients into members. So we did what studio owners do: messed around with offers, pricing, scripts, and anything else we thought might fix it. And all that time spent trying to fix sales was time we weren’t spending working on the business.
Then we realized something: we already had the solution.
We adapted our sales system specifically for fitness and wellness, put it to work in our own studio for hiring and team development, and watched our conversion rate climb above 60% and stay there, compared with an industry benchmark of 25–35% and 40–50% for a strong-performing studio.
The problem hadn’t been our offers, pricing, or sales process. It was knowing who on our team could sell and giving them exactly what they needed to get better.
One of the things we love most about the fitness and wellness industry is how much people help one another. We’ve benefited from incredible coaches and consultants who have helped us build and grow our own business, each bringing expertise we didn’t have ourselves.
That’s what we want to be for you: the sales experts on your team.
